"Aprendiendo De Su Amor,"

Verso de hoy:

 En esto está el amor, no porque amáramos a Dios, sino que él nos amó y envió a su Hijo para ser el sacrificio expiatorio por nuestros pecados.  - 1 Juan 4:10

 Nadie puede superar el gran amor que Dios nos ha demostrado.  Es amor sacrificial porque dio a Su único hijo para pagar el precio por nuestros pecados.  El versículo dice que no es porque amamos a Dios que Él nos salvó;  Lo hizo porque nos amaba mucho.  Nos recuerda que debemos amar a Dios aún más.  En las Escrituras se manda amar a Dios con todo nuestro corazón.  Desde que hemos experimentado el amor más grande que Dios nos demostró, hemos aprendido a amar y podemos amar a los demás como Dios nos amó a nosotros.  Si confiamos en nuestra capacidad de amar, no podemos hacerlo.  Pero Dios derramó Su amor hacia nosotros para que podamos derramar Su amor a los demás.  Comentario de: Jeremy B.  Señor, gracias por amarme incondicionalmente.  Gracias a Tu amor por mí, estoy aprendiendo a amar incluso a los que no son amados.  Deja que Tu amor se desborde en mi vida para que pueda fluir hacia los que me rodean.  Amén.

Today’s Verse:

In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. - 1John 4:10

No one can surpass the great love that God has demonstrated for us. It is sacrificial love because He gave His only begotten son to pay the price for our sins. The verse says it is not because we love God that He saved us; He did it because He loved us so much. It reminds us that we should love God even more. It is commanded in the scriptures to love God with all our hearts. Since we have experienced the greatest love that God demonstrated to us, we have learned how to love, and we can love others the way God loved us. If we rely on our capacity to love, we cannot do it. Lord, thank you for loving me unconditionally. Because of Your love for me, I am learning how to love even the unlovable. Let Your love overflow in my life so that it can flow to others around me. Amen.

Verso de hoy:
Así también la lengua es un miembro pequeño, pero se jacta de grandes hazañas.  ¡Qué gran bosque se incendia con un pequeño fuego!  Y la lengua es un fuego.  La lengua se coloca entre nuestros miembros como un mundo de iniquidad;  mancha todo el cuerpo, prende fuego al ciclo de la naturaleza y él mismo arde en el infierno.  - Santiago 3: 5-6
Un filipino que dice que haré todo lo posible para traducir es: "Es mejor que te roben que quemar tu casa".  Por segunda vez este año, se produjo un incendio en la misma calle de mi ciudad natal, dejando sin hogar a cuarenta familias.  La causa del último incendio aún no se ha determinado, pero el incendio anterior fue causado por una sola vela desatendida.  Como una vela, nuestra lengua puede prender fuego a la gente causando conflictos, disputas y disensiones.  Personalmente he sido testigo de cómo rompía amistades de toda la vida.  Puede destruir la carrera de una persona que ha trabajado duro durante años porque no pudo contener la lengua durante un momento de ira.  El apóstol Santiago nos advierte sobre esto y es por eso que debemos esforzarnos y esforzarnos en domar la lengua.  Recuerde que podemos usarlo para bendecir y animar, o maldecir y herir sin cuidado a otros.  - Comentario de Mark Natividad

So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great exploits. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire! And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is placed among our members as a world of iniquity; it stains the whole body, sets on fire the cycle of nature, and is itself on fire by hell. - James 3:5-6
A Filipino saying that I will try my best to translate is, “It’s better to be robbed than to have your house burn down.” For the second time this year, a fire broke out on the same street in my hometown, leaving forty families homeless. The cause of the latest fire is still to be determined but the previous fire was caused by a single unattended candle. Like a candle, our tongue can set ablaze people by causing strife, quarrels, and dissension. I have personally witnessed it severing lifelong friendships. It can destroy a person’s career who has worked hard for years because they were not able to hold their tongue during a moment of anger. Apostle James warns us about this and is why we should exert and put much effort into taming the tongue. Remember that we can use it to bless and encourage, or carelessly curse and hurt others. - Commentary by Mark Natividad

Our Heavenly Father, help us to control our tongue so we can use it to bless others and not hurt or bring them down. Lord, please give us the wisdom and patience to tame our tongues. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hay cosas posibles para ti si tienes esperanza.  Aún más es posible para ti si tienes fe.  Y aún así, hay un mayor nivel de posibilidades para ti si sabes amar.  Pero todo es posible para ti si practicas los tres.

There are things possible for you if you have hope. Even more is possible for you if you have faith. And still, there is a greater level of possibilities for you if you know how to love. But everything is possible for you if you practice all three.

 Dios está siempre con nosotros.  Todos tenemos nuestros momentos de duda y este momento en la vida de David no es muy diferente a muchos de los momentos que tenemos en nuestras vidas hoy.  Aquí, David ha visto el quebrantamiento del mundo que lo rodea y le ruega a Dios que los libere a pesar de la realidad del mundo.  Es lo mismo en nuestro mundo de hoy, y este Salmo resuena profundamente.  Dios ve esto y anhela que lo abracemos en medio de nuestras propias luchas y debilidades.  Sin embargo, la pregunta sigue siendo: ¿hay quienes buscarán la sabiduría de Dios?  Dé la bienvenida hoy a la oportunidad de buscar la sabiduría de Dios en su vida.  ¿Hay algo que impide que se reparen sus heridas y sus roturas?  Buscar la presencia de Dios en tu vida puede ser el remedio.  - Comentario de: Matthew J. Today’s Verse:

The Lord looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God. - Psalm 14:2

God is always with us. We all have our moments of doubt and this moment in David’s life is not too dissimilar to many of the moments that we have in our lives today. Here, David has seen the brokenness of the world around him and is pleading with God to deliver them in spite of the reality of the world. It is the same in our world today, and this Psalm resonates soundly. God sees this and longs for us to embrace Him in the midst of our own struggles and weaknesses. The question remains though, are there those who will seek God’s wisdom? Welcome the opportunity today to seek God’s wisdom in your life. Is there something that’s keeping your wounds and brokenness from being repaired? Seeking God’s presence in your life can be the remedy. - Commentary by: Matthew J. Elliott

 El que en muy poco es fiel, también en mucho es fiel;  y el que es deshonesto en muy poco, también en mucho es deshonesto.  - Lucas 16:10

 Hay momentos en la vida de muchos creyentes en los que la pasión que alguna vez sintieron al seguir al Señor no es fuerte.  Los "sentimientos" se han ido y nos quedamos en una especie de zona muerta.  En esos tiempos es fácil sentirse lejos de Dios y preguntarse qué salió mal.  Este es un sentimiento normal en cualquier relación.  La pregunta es, ¿qué hacemos durante este tiempo para preservar nuestra fe y mantener el rumbo?  Primero que nada, no te rindas y no pienses que Dios te ha dejado.  Lo mejor que creo que podemos hacer es simplemente permanecer fieles.  Incluso si siente que sus oraciones golpean el techo, siga orando.  Incluso si parece que no puedes sacar nada de las Escrituras, sigue leyendo.  La luz de Dios vendrá y siempre estará cerca.  - Comentario de: Traci Elliott

There are times in many believer's lives when the passion they once felt in following the Lord is not strong. The “feelings” are gone and we’re left in a sort of dead zone. It is easy in those times to feel far away from God and wonder what went wrong. This is a normal feeling in any relationship. The question is, what do we do during this time to preserve our faith and stay on track? First off, don’t give up and do not think that God has left you. The best thing that I think we can do is simply to remain faithful. Even if you feel like your prayers hit the ceiling, keep praying. Even if you can’t seem to get anything out of scripture, keep reading. God’s light will come and He will always be near. - Commentary by: Traci Elliott

"Pura Sabiduría,"

Verso de hoy:

 Pero la sabiduría de arriba es primero pura, luego pacífica, amable, dispuesta a ceder, llena de misericordia y buenos frutos, sin rastro de parcialidad o hipocresía.  Y la cosecha de la justicia se siembra en paz para los que hacen la paz.  - Santiago 3: 17-18

 Este versículo nos ayuda a ver el tipo de sabiduría que no proviene de Dios y la sabiduría que proviene de Dios.  El versículo simplemente enumera las características del tipo de sabiduría que proviene de Dios.  No debemos dejarnos engañar por aquellos que afirman que su sabiduría proviene de Dios y, sin embargo, carece de paz, mansedumbre, misericordia, sumisión, buenos frutos y está llena de hipocresía.  La última parte del versículo nos dice que "la mies de justicia se siembra en paz".  Significa que la paz y las cosas buenas siempre saldrán cuando usemos la sabiduría que viene de Dios.  La sabiduría humana y mundana siempre resultará en conflictos y disensiones.  Esto nos recuerda que debemos identificar y utilizar la sabiduría que Dios nos ofrece y que solo podemos encontrar esa sabiduría en Sus Sagradas Escrituras y a través del Espíritu Santo.  Comentario de: Jeremy B.  Señor, gracias por recordarme que no debería buscar sabiduría en este mundo.  La sabiduría de este mundo solo resultaría en problemas y problemas.  Gracias por darnos las escrituras donde podemos encontrar sabiduría pura y piadosa cada vez que abrimos y estudiamos la Biblia.  Amén.

"Pure Wisdom,"

Today’s Verse: 

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace. - James 3:17-18

This verse helps us see the kind of wisdom that is not from God and the wisdom that is from God. The verse simply enumerates the characteristics of the kind of wisdom that is from God. We should not be deceived by those who claim that their wisdom is from God and yet it lacks peace, gentleness, mercy, submissiveness, good fruits, and is full of hypocrisy. The last part of the verse tells us that the “harvest of righteousness is sown in peace.” It means that peace and good things will always come out when we use the wisdom that is from God. Human and worldly wisdom will always result in conflict and dissensions. This reminds us that we should identify and utilize the wisdom that God is offering us and we can only find that wisdom in His Holy Scriptures and through the Holy Spirit. Commentary By: Jeremy B. Lord, thank you for reminding me that I should not seek wisdom from this world. The wisdom of this world would only result in troubles and problems. Thank you for giving us the scriptures where we can find pure and Godly wisdom every time we open and study the Bible. Amen.

 Yo soy la vid, ustedes son las ramas.  Los que permanecen en mí y yo en ellos dan mucho fruto, porque separados de mí no pueden hacer nada.  - Juan 15: 5

 ¿Alguna vez se preguntó por qué es tan importante tener tiempo para la oración y la devoción?  ¿Alguna vez se vuelve un poco tedioso?  A veces siento que no lo hago con la suficiente religión.  Es como si no leyera una cierta cantidad de páginas de mi Biblia todos los días, me deslizara espiritualmente.  Pero no creo que ese sea realmente el punto.  Cuando conecté mi computadora para escribir esto, tuve una idea.  Quizás el objetivo de un tiempo de devoción regular es conectarnos a nuestra fuente de energía.  Necesitamos ser revitalizados, animados, elevados y empoderados por Dios para salir adelante en esta vida y ser efectivos en hacer Su voluntad.  Si no nos recargamos, nos secaremos espiritualmente.  ¡Conéctese con Dios no porque crea que debe hacerlo, sino para obtener la conexión poderosa y las gracias que necesita!  - Comentario de Traci Elliott

Do you ever wonder why it’s so important to have time for prayer and devotion? Does it ever get a little tedious? Sometimes I feel that I don’t do it religiously enough. It‘s like if I don’t read a certain number of pages in my Bible every day I’m slipping spiritually. But I don’t think that’s really the point. As I plugged in my computer to write this, I had an idea. Maybe the point of a regular devotion time is to plug into our power source. We need to be re-energized, encouraged, uplifted, and empowered by God to make it through this life and to be effective in doing His will. If we don’t get recharged, we’ll dry up spiritually.  ¿Por qué, Señor, estás lejos?  ¿Por qué te escondes en tiempos de angustia?  - Salmo 10: 1

 Hay momentos en la vida de muchas personas en las que la tragedia, las dificultades o ver el mal en el mundo los enoja.  A veces esa ira se vuelve hacia Dios.  ¿Cómo pudo permitir esto?  Dios es bueno, entonces, ¿por qué suceden estas cosas?  Honestamente, no creo que expresar enojo sea algo malo mientras no pecamos cuando lo hacemos.  Dios es la verdad y no creo que nos culpe cuando somos honestos acerca de nuestros sentimientos.  El rey David en la Biblia a menudo presentaba sus quejas a Dios.  De hecho, muchos de ellos se convirtieron en Escritura, lo que vemos en los Salmos.  Entonces, la próxima vez que se sienta enojado por algo que ha sucedido, lléveselo a Dios.  Él puede manejar sus preguntas, pero tenga en cuenta que Él es su Padre y siempre debemos ser respetuosos.  Es mejor cuando se lo damos a Dios porque Él escucha y se preocupa;  Él puede reemplazar tu ira con paz.  - Comentario de: Traci Elliott

Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? - Psalm 10:1

There are times in many people’s lives when tragedy, hardship, or seeing the evil in the world makes them angry. Sometimes that anger gets turned towards God. How could He allow this? God is good, so why do these things happen? Honestly, I don’t think that expressing anger is a bad thing as long as we do not sin when we do it. God is truth and I don’t think He faults us when we are honest about our feelings. King David in the Bible often brought his complaints to God. In fact, many of them became scripture - what we see in the Psalms. So, the next time you feel angry about something that has happened, bring it to God. He can handle your questions, but keep in mind that He is your Father and we must always be respectful. It’s better when we give it to God because He listens and He cares; He can replace your anger with peace. - Commentary by: Traci Elliott

"Cuidado Providencial De Dios,"
Verso de hoy:
Lo nombró señor de su casa y gobernador de todas sus posesiones, para instruir a sus oficiales a su gusto y para enseñar sabiduría a sus mayores.  - Salmo 105: 21-22
Estos versículos hablan del éxito y las bendiciones de José al final de su largo y doloroso viaje en la vida.  La vida de José fue uno de los mejores ejemplos del cuidado providencial de Dios.  El cuidado providencial significa el cuidado de Dios, no solo en el presente sino también en el futuro.  Joseph tuvo una vida muy colorida.  Sus hermanos lo vendieron como esclavo y lo encerraron en prisión durante muchos años.  Sin embargo, terminó como el segundo más alto después de Faraón en Egipto.  La vida de José nos dice que, sean cuales sean las circunstancias que enfrentemos, siempre podemos confiar en el cuidado providencial de Dios.  Dios tiene algo grandioso para nosotros en el futuro.  Todo lo que tenemos que hacer es entregarle nuestra vida y confiar en Él con todo nuestro corazón.  Dios siempre estará ahí.  Él nunca nos fallará.  - Comentario de: Jeremy B. These verses talk about Joseph’s success and blessings at the end of his long and painful journey in life. Joseph’s life was one of the best examples of God’s providential care. Providential care means God’s care, not only in the present but towards the future. Joseph had a very colorful life. He was sold by his brothers as a slave and locked up in prison for many years. Yet he ended up as second highest to Pharaoh in Egypt. The life of Joseph tells us that whatever circumstances we are facing, we can always trust in God’s providential care. God has something great in store for us in the future. All we need to do is to surrender our life to Him and trust Him with all our hearts. God will always be there. Living near the workplace has its advantages and drawbacks. One benefit is being able to walk to work that saves time and money. On the other hand, when there’s an unexpected absence of personnel, I’m always called first because of my proximity. This would draw the ire of my wife, especially at night because we’re already sleeping. I appease her by saying that God wants us to be loving and of service to one another and we never know one night we might also need help. This year a mango tree fell on our house late in the evening. Our main electrical wire attached to it also fell along with it. By God’s grace, our neighbors rushed to help without us saying or asking. They lent us their expertise and tools to stop the electrical wire from causing any future harm. Suppose you have a friend who requires your help; if you have the means to help them then don’t hesitate to do so. There may come a time you will also need their assistance, and they will not think twice about rushing to help you. The bottom line is, we are to earnestly love God first and foremost, then love and help one another selflessly. - Commentary by Mark Natividad

It’s an age-old question, what should I do next? It’s often difficult to know what the next step in life should be. There are three things that I usually do when I am faced with major life decisions. First, I bring it before God in prayer, asking Him to show me the way. Second, I seek Godly counsel from those I trust. Third, I ask the Lord to confirm what I think He’s telling me. Sometimes He tells me to wait, and that the answer is on its way. Sometimes doors open without a problem. Other times it seems like I don’t have an answer one way or the other. In those times I may take baby steps in different directions, asking the Lord to guide me as I go.  Por tanto, no abandones esa confianza tuya;  trae una gran recompensa.  - Hebreos 10:35

 ¿Alguna vez has orado para que las cosas sucedan de cierta manera, solo para que sean completamente diferentes?  ¿Alguna vez eso te ha hecho perder un poco la confianza en Dios o sentir que simplemente no está escuchando tus oraciones?  Eso me sucedió recientemente, solo que en lugar de disminuir mi confianza, la restauró.  Ya había perdido un poco de confianza por experiencias pasadas, pero de todos modos oré muy específicamente por algo.  Al final, lo que estaba orando resultó completamente diferente de lo que esperaba, pero la mano de Dios estaba claramente en ello.  ¡Apareció de una manera poderosa!  Vi este versículo y me di cuenta de algo.  Nunca debería permitirme perder mi confianza en Dios solo porque Él no responde mis oraciones exactamente como yo quiero.  Él nos escucha, también ve cosas que no vemos y sabe lo que es mejor para nosotros.  ¡Obrará lo inesperado para bien en nuestras vidas!  - Comentario de Traci Elliott

That happened to me recently, only instead of diminishing my confidence, it restored it. I had already lost a little bit of confidence from past experiences, but I prayed very specifically for something anyway. In the end, what I was praying for turned out completely different than what I expected, but God’s hand was clearly in it. He showed up in a mighty way! I saw this verse and realized something. I should never allow myself to lose my confidence in God just because He doesn’t answer my prayers exactly the way I want Him to. He hears us, He also sees things we don’t see, and He knows what is ultimately best for us. He will work the unexpected for good in our lives! - Commentary by Traci Elliott

 Entonces Jesús les contó una parábola sobre su necesidad de orar siempre y no desanimarse.  - Lucas 18: 1

 Habrá ocasiones en las que oremos y nuestra petición parecerá sin respuesta.  Volvemos a pedir la segunda, tercera o novena cantidad de veces, pero aún así se nos niega.  Hay muchas razones por las que nuestras oraciones quedan sin respuesta.  Por nombrar algunos, podemos estar pidiendo algo incorrecto, o no estamos bien con Dios al vivir en pecado y orgullo en primer lugar, o falta de fe.  En este pasaje, Jesús contó una parábola sobre un juez injusto que finalmente cedió a las súplicas de una mujer persistente.  ¿Cuánto más nuestro Padre Celestial, que es justo y nos ama, quiere el bien para nosotros?  Recuerdo que mi esposa y yo oramos por un ascenso.  ¡Tardaron siete años en materializarse!  La espera nos enseñó a ser pacientes y a seguir rezando con insistencia.  Hemos aprendido a no desanimarnos sino a confiar continuamente en Dios.  Ahora que tengo la mira puesta en la próxima promoción, estamos preparados para trabajar y esperar.  Cuando oramos, siempre arreglemos primero con Dios.  Cualquiera que sea Su respuesta, persista, ore pidiendo discernimiento para reconocer Su voluntad para su vida y no se rinda.  - Comentario de Mark Natividad

Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. - Luke 18:1

There will be times when we pray and our request seems unanswered. We ask again for the second, third, or ninth number of times but still are denied. There are many reasons why our prayers go unanswered. To name a few, we may be asking for the wrong thing, or we are not right with God by living in sin and pride in the first place, or a lack of faith. In this passage, Jesus told a parable about an unjust judge who finally gave in to the pleas of a persistent woman. How much more our Father in Heaven who is fair and loves us wants good for us? I remember me and my wife praying for a promotion. It took seven years to materialize! The waiting taught us to be patient and to persistently keep on praying. We have learned not to lose heart but continually trust God. Now setting my sights on the next promotion, we are prepared to work and wait for it. When we pray, always get right with God first. Whatever His answer is, persist, pray for discernment to recognize His will for your life, and don’t give up. - Commentary by Mark Natividad

 ¿Se ha preguntado últimamente por qué suplica y ora con fervor, pero parece que no sucede nada y no obtiene lo que pidió?  El pecado podría interponerse en el camino.  Solo piense en esto, qué buen padre recompensa a su hijo con algo que ellos quieren mientras están desobedeciendo voluntariamente.  Nuestro Dios es un Padre amoroso que no premia el mal comportamiento, corrige a los que ama.  Es importante recordar que somos hijos de Dios y debemos vivir de acuerdo con cómo Él nos ha mandado.  Él conoce nuestro corazón, y cuando nos arrepentimos, debe ser con humildad y sinceridad.  A Dios no le gusta el orgullo en absoluto.  Cuando obedecemos a Dios, la vida va bien.  Cuando desobedecemos, cosechamos las malas consecuencias.  La elección es nuestra.  Así que haz las paces con Dios, arrepiéntete humildemente de tus pecados, y cuando ores realmente dilo en serio.  - Comentario de Tabitha Khaye

Have you wondered lately why you plead and pray in earnest, yet nothing seems to happen, and you don't get what you prayed for? Sin could be getting in the way. Just think about this, what good father rewards his child with something they want while they are being willfully disobedient. Our God is a loving Father who does not reward bad behavior, He corrects those He loves.  It is important to remember we are children of God and must live according to how He has commanded us. He knows our hearts, and when we repent, it needs to be with humility and be sincere. God does not like pride whatsoever. When we obey God, life goes well.  When we disobey, we reap the bad consequences.  The choice is ours. This one is great for when we feel lost or forgotten. It is a reminder that regardless of what we face in life, God is faithful. In these chaotic and stressful times, we need to pray hard with our whole heart and soul. Prayer is powerful and can bring about incredible change for good. We need to do it more now than ever. Why now? Well, as we all know things just seem to be getting more and more difficult in our world, and through prayer, we can change our circumstances. Jesus set an example for us to follow when He prayed in faith, and miracles happened. We need to turn to God, repent of our sins so our prayers are heard, humble ourselves, and sincerely pray from the heart.  ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cuál debería ser la función de la iglesia?  Hay buenos aspectos de la iglesia hoy y hay algunas cosas que ciertamente podemos mejorar.  Sin embargo, creo que este versículo lo resume bastante bien.  Necesitamos estar unidos unos con otros, trabajando juntos como uno en el Señor, incluso si no estamos de acuerdo en algunas cosas.  Necesitamos mostrar bondad, apoyarnos y amarnos unos a otros.  Si hacemos estas cosas, seremos más efectivos para llegar a aquellos que aún no conocen al Señor.  Además, querrán unirse a nosotros cuando nos vean viviendo en humildad, gentileza, paciencia, amor y unidad.  - Comentario de: Traci Elliott

Do you ever wonder what the function of the church should be? There are good aspects of the church today and there are some things that we can certainly improve on. I think this verse, however, sums it up quite well. We need to be unified with each other, working together as one in the Lord, even if we may disagree on some things. We need to show kindness, be supportive, and love one another. If we do these things, we will be more effective in reaching out to those who don’t know the Lord yet.  No solo pido por ellos, sino también por aquellos que creerán en mí a través de su palabra.  - Juan 17:20

 Cuando era niño y todavía estaba aprendiendo a orar, mis oraciones eran bastante largas.  Mencioné el nombre de todos, asegurándome de no perder a nadie para que Dios los bendiga.  Al crecer, aprendí a orar por grupos en general y solo a decir nombres para propósitos específicos o peticiones especiales de oración.  Ahora soy padre de dos hijos por la gracia de Dios.  Verlos aprender a orar y su importancia es como un deja vu.  Están haciendo exactamente lo que hice cuando tenía su edad, es decir, mencionar a todos los familiares y amigos que conocen.  Una vez, mi hija pareció exasperada y preguntó por qué deberíamos orar por los demás.  Con mucho gusto respondí porque es lo correcto y que Jesús nos ordenó que lo hiciéramos.  Debemos orar no solo por los creyentes sino también por nuestros enemigos, a quienes también debemos amar.  Debemos bendecir a los que nos maldicen, hacer el bien a los que nos odian y orar por los que nos maltratan y persiguen (Mateo 5).  - Comentario de Mark Natividad

When I was a child and still learning to pray, my prayers were quite long. I mentioned everyone’s name, making sure not to miss anyone for God to bless. Growing up, I learned to pray for groups in general and only state names for specific purposes or special prayer requests. Now I am a father of two kids by God’s grace. Witnessing them learning how to pray and the importance of it is Like deja vu. They are doing exactly what I did when I was their age that is mentioning every relative and friend they know. One time, my daughter seemed exasperated and inquired why we should be praying for others. I gladly answered because it is the right thing to do and that Jesus commanded us to do it. We are to pray not only for the believers but even for our enemies whom we also ought to love. We are to bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who mistreat and persecute us (Matthew 5). - Commentary by Mark Natividad

Israel, espera en el Señor!  Porque con el SEÑOR hay misericordia, y gran poder para redimir con él.  Él es quien redimirá a Israel de todas sus iniquidades.  - Salmo 130: 7-8

 La esperanza es un concepto poderoso, ¿no es así?  A veces, puede parecer que la esperanza no se encuentra en ninguna parte, pero en realidad, está en todas partes.  Es posible que sus efectos no estén demasiado presentes en su situación actual, pero si mira lo suficiente, encontrará algo que vale la pena esperar.  Los adoradores de este Salmo depositaron su esperanza en el amor redentor de Dios.  Hay otras formas en que podemos encontrar esperanza, pero el amor redentor de Dios es una de las armas más poderosas que podemos sostener como creyentes.  En muchos sentidos, no podemos tener fe si no ponemos nuestra esperanza en algo más grande que nosotros mismos.  Tome la decisión de esperar en el Señor y creer en el amor de Dios hoy.  - Comentario de: Matthew J. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is great power to redeem. It is he who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities. - Psalm 130:7-8

Hope is a powerful concept, isn’t it? Sometimes, it may seem as if hope is nowhere to be found, but actually, it is everywhere. Its effects may not be overly present in your current situation, but if you look hard enough you will find something worth hoping for. The worshippers in this Psalm placed their hope in God's redeeming love. There are other ways that we can find hope, but God’s redeeming love is one of the most powerful weapons we can hold as believers. In many ways, we cannot have faith if we aren’t placing our hope in something bigger than ourselves. Make the choice to hope in the LORD and believe in God’s love today. - Commentary by: Matthew J.  Entonces Jesús dijo: “Padre, perdónalos;  porque no saben lo que hacen ".  Y echaron suertes para dividir su ropa.  - Lucas 23:34

 Este pasaje fue la primera de las siete últimas palabras de Jesucristo en la cruz.  Primero, podemos ver la obra de intercesión de Cristo.  Cristo no dijo que los perdona, sino que le pide al Padre que los perdone.  Ahora tenemos un abogado que intercede por nosotros ante el Padre.  Por eso cuando oramos, oramos en el nombre de Jesucristo.  Segundo, Jesús le pidió al Padre que los perdonara porque no sabían lo que estaban haciendo.  Podemos ver que la ignorancia del hombre puede llevar a una actitud incorrecta, acciones incorrectas, comportamiento incorrecto y pecado.  Es bueno que Dios nos haya proporcionado la Biblia.  La Biblia puede ayudarnos a curar nuestra ignorancia y llevarnos al conocimiento y la sabiduría que nos mantendrán alejados del pecado.  - Comentario de Jeremy B. Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing. - Luke 23:34

This passage was the first of the seven last words of Jesus Christ on the cross. First, we can see the intercessory work of Christ. Christ did not say that He forgives them but instead, He asks the Father to forgive them. We now have an advocate that intercedes on our behalf to the Father. "Laugh At The Future,"/"Ríete Del Futuro,"

 La fuerza y ​​la dignidad son su vestimenta, y se ríe del momento por venir.  - Proverbios 31:25

 ¿Alguna vez te preocupas por el futuro?  Quizás te preguntes qué cosas malas van a pasar a la vuelta de la esquina de la vida.  Creo que probablemente todos tengamos esos momentos de preocupación.  En este verso, vemos que la esposa virtuosa no teme al futuro, se ríe de él.  ¡Si tan solo todos pudiéramos tener esta actitud!  La buena noticia es que creo que podemos.  Todos somos humanos y todos tenemos nuestros momentos de miedo, pero creo que podemos aprovechar esta confianza que tenía la esposa virtuosa.  La respuesta está en otra de las cualidades de esta mujer;  ella "teme al Señor".  Cuando tenemos más temor o reverencia por Dios que por lo que venga en el futuro, podemos reírnos con confianza, sabiendo que Él es más grande que toda adversidad.  - Comentario de: Traci Elliott

Today’s Verse:

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. - Proverbs 31:25

Do you ever worry about the future? Maybe you wonder what bad things are going to happen just around the corner of life. I think we probably all have those moments of worry. In this verse, we see that the virtuous wife doesn’t fear the future she laughs at it. If only we could all have this attitude! The good news is I think we can. We are all human and we all have our moments of fear, but I think that we can tap into this confidence that the virtuous wife had. The answer lies with another of this woman’s qualities; she “fears the Lord.” When we have more fear or reverence for God than we do for whatever may come in the future, then we can laugh with confidence, knowing that He is greater than all adversity. - Commentary by: Traci Elliott

Heavenly Father, thank You for always being with us and giving us confidence. You are far greater than anything that may or may not happen in the future! Help us to have confidence, trust, and faith in Your ever-present help. Amen.
