When A Man’s Ways Please The Lord

The Scriptures says: “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” In other words, God can make even the devil want to shake your hand. It’s good to stay in agreement with God, even if you must go against your own intentions or objectives some times. Even on a good day, there are some people who will try to say bad things about you even though you never mentioned them to anyone. But when you are trying to perform a good work for our Lord by being a blessing to God’s people in whatever way the Spirit has lead you, someone will try to oppose your very intent. Some will try to prevent you by obstructing and frustrating others who may have a mind to help you. The worst enemy of all, is the one in your head who tries to complicate matters with thoughts that always seem to take your mind off of your purpose God has prepared for you. The devil will always try to distract you from what God has prearranged by His designed will. Sometimes, we can get off course (so often), we just put God’s plans for our lives, so far back in our minds, we simply forget His will. Or do we? May I submit to you that this is exactly what the devil wants you to do? The devil and your enemies really want you to please them. Know this, God’s will, will be done. God can take the worst the devil has against you and give you a brand new testimony to share as to “How the Lord has brought you through a tough time.” And so often, even your enemies will back off trying to obstruct your advancement realizing the more they come against you, for some reason, the more contemptible and loathsome they begin to look to others. If you try to please man, he will want more. If you try to please God, He will give you more. Now, even though your enemies may be at peace with you, they are still not your friends. Be wise and know that “smiling faces can sometimes tell lies.” But that’s OK. Just remember that - “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
