"No arrepentido y terco"
versículo de hoy:
En el trigésimo noveno año de su reinado, Asa estaba enfermo en sus pies y su enfermedad se volvió severa; sin embargo, incluso en su enfermedad, no buscó al Señor, sino que buscó la ayuda de los médicos. Entonces Asa se acostó con sus antepasados, muriendo en el cuadragésimo primer año de su reinado. - 2 Crónicas 16: 13-14
El rey Asa gobernó sobre Judá, el reino del sur, durante cuarenta y un años. Hizo lo correcto y bueno a los ojos del Señor desde el comienzo de su reinado. Comenzó a reformar al pueblo e hizo campaña para erradicar el paganismo y la idolatría de la tierra. Quitó los altares extranjeros y los lugares altos y rompió las piedras sagradas. Judá estaba en paz y no hubo guerra durante más de treinta años, ya que Dios los había bendecido para su reforma (2 Crónicas 14-15). Lamentablemente, en el trigésimo sexto año de su reinado, en lugar de continuar depositando su fe en Dios, confió en otro rey que desagradó mucho a Dios. A partir de entonces, Judá se enfrentó a la guerra. Luego se enfermó gravemente y aún se negó a buscar al Señor. Le fue bien durante treinta y cinco años, pero después de actuar tontamente, las cosas empeoraron. Asa podría haberse arrepentido pero no lo hizo. Sus últimos años fueron dolorosos en lugar de tener paz para un rey viejo y retirado. Debido a la terquedad, los días de paz y comodidad fueron reemplazados por miseria y sufrimiento. ¿Estás corriendo la buena carrera y peleando la buena batalla por Dios? ¡Busca terminar fuerte como el apóstol Pablo! Nuestro Padre Celestial, por favor, perdónanos por cualquier orgullo y terquedad. Señor, por favor renueva nuestros corazones y mentes, y ayúdanos a actuar sabiamente. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.

"Unrepentant and Stubborn,"
Today's Verse:
In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet, and his disease became severe; yet even in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but sought help from the physicians. Then Asa slept with his ancestors, dying in his forty-first year of his reign. - 2 Chronicles 16:13-14
King Asa ruled over Judah, the southern kingdom, for forty-one years. He did what was right and good in the eyes of the Lord since the beginning of his reign. He started to reform the people and campaigned to eradicate paganism and idolatry from the land. He removed the foreign altars and the high places and smashed the sacred stones. Judah was at peace and no war took place for thirty-plus years as God had blessed them for their reformation (2 Chronicles 14-15). Sadly, at the thirty-sixth year of his reign, instead of continuing to place his faith in God, he relied on another king which greatly displeased God. From then on, Judah faced war. He then got severely sick and he still refused to seek the Lord. He was doing well for thirty-five years but after acting foolishly, things turned for the worse. Asa could have repented but he did not. His last years were painful instead of having peace for an old and retiring king. Because of stubbornness, days of peace and comfort were replaced with misery and suffering. Are you running the good race and fighting the good fight for God? Seek to finish strong just like apostle Paul! Keep your eyes on the prize and do not allow yourself like King Asa to be distracted or dissuaded by pride and disobedience. - Commentary by: Mark Natividad

Our Heavenly Father, please forgive us for any pride and stubbornness. Lord, please renew our hearts and minds, and help us to act wisely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
