 Estaba sentado en una cafetería una mañana, tomando una taza de café antes de comenzar mi día.  Entró un anciano caballero arrastrando los pies detrás de un andador.  Cuando pasó junto a mi mesa, se detuvo y me preguntó: "¿Conoces los evangelios?"  La pregunta me sorprendió un poco, ya que no lo esperaba.  "Sí, sí", le dije.  "Sí conozco los evangelios".  No dijo nada más, pero se fue con una sonrisa.  Cuando terminé mi café, pensé en lo que el caballero me había preguntado.  Cinco pequeñas palabras que me dejaron sin palabras por un segundo.  Ese encuentro con los señores mayores ocurrió hace aproximadamente dos años, y desde entonces yo también he encontrado el coraje de acercarme a las personas para conocer a Jesús.  No de la misma manera que los caballeros mayores, sino a mi manera.  He hecho que la gente sacuda la cabeza y se vaya, pero en su mayor parte, he hecho que la gente escuche y sea receptiva.  Esto es lo que Jesús quiere que hagamos.  Él quiere que le hablemos a la gente acerca de Él y que les hagamos saber cómo podemos tener vida eterna.  Ya sea que le pregunte a alguien en una cafetería si conoce a Jesús o si toca a su puerta: Él le dará las palabras para decir, como "¿Conoces los evangelios?"  - Comentario de: Arial Merick

Today's Verse:

Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. - Matthew 7:7

I was sitting in a coffee shop one morning, having a cup of coffee before I started my day. In walked an elderly gentleman shuffling behind a walker. As he passed my table he stopped and asked me, “Do you know the gospels?” I was a little taken aback by the question, having not expected it. “Yes, yes,” I said. “I do know the gospels.” He didn’t say anything else but he left with a smile. As I finished my coffee I thought about what the gentleman had asked me. Five little words that left me speechless for just a second. That encounter with the elderly gentlemen happened about two years ago, and since then I too have found the courage to approach people about knowing Jesus. Not in quite the same way as the elderly gentlemen but in my own way. I have had people shake their head and walk away, but for the most part, I have had people listen and be receptive. This is what Jesus wants us to do. He wants us to tell people about Him and to let them know how we can have eternal life. Whether you ask someone in a coffee shop about whether they know Jesus or you knock on their door: He will give you the words to say such as, “Do you know the gospels?” - Commentary by: Arial Merick

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your son Jesus. Please give us the courage to speak out, proclaim the Word, and share His wonderful message with the world. Amen.
