"Sin vergüenza"

Verso de hoy:

 No se avergüence, entonces, del testimonio de nuestro Señor o de mí, su prisionero, sino únase a mí para sufrir por el evangelio, confiando en el poder de Dios.  - 2 Timoteo 1: 8

 ¿Qué representas?  La mayoría de nosotros diría con orgullo que somos cristianos.  Hay muchos lugares en todo el mundo donde los cristianos son perseguidos y asesinados por practicar su fe.  Reunirse o ser encontrado con una Biblia los condena.  En la antigua Roma, los cristianos fueron ejecutados por animales salvajes para entretenerse.  Hoy en el Medio Oriente, los cristianos son cazados como criminales y se les da un ultimátum: convertir, irse o morir.  Cuando Jesús oró por sus discípulos poco antes de ascender al cielo, pidió que sus seguidores no fueran sacados del mundo sino que estaríamos protegidos mientras estuviéramos en el mundo.  (Juan 17: 14-16) Esta fue una declaración que presagiaba cómo se trataría a los cristianos hasta el final de los tiempos.  No seremos abrazados por todos.  Pero nuestro trabajo es vivir nuestras vidas de tal manera que quienes nos ven no puedan negar que lo que proclamamos es la verdad.  Nuestro trabajo es obedecer a Dios.  El Espíritu Santo se encargará del resto.  Debemos vivir sin vergüenza, compartir con amor la Palabra de Dios y enseñar a las personas acerca de Jesús.  - Comentario de: Chelsea Henry.

 La oración de hoy:

 Señor, gracias por permitirme vivir sin avergonzarme de ti y de tu mensaje.  Ayúdame a ser una luz que brille en la oscuridad para que otros te vean y difundan tu mensaje.  Amén.

Today's Verse:

Do not be ashamed, then, of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God. - 2 Timothy 1:8

What do you stand for? Most of us would proudly say that we are Christians. There are many places around the world where Christians are persecuted and killed for practicing their faith. Meeting together or being found with a Bible condemns them. In ancient Rome, Christians were executed by wild animals for entertainment. Today in the Middle East, Christians are hunted like criminals and given an ultimatum: convert, leave, or die. When Jesus prayed for his disciples shortly before he ascended into heaven, he asked that his followers not be taken out of the world but that we would be protected while in the world. (John 17:14-16) This was a statement that was to foreshadow how Christians would be treated until the end times. We will not be embraced by everybody. But our job is to live our lives in such a way that those who see us can’t deny that what we proclaim is the truth. Our job is to obey God. The Holy Spirit will take care of the rest. We are to live unashamed, lovingly share the Word of God, and teach people about Jesus. - Commentary by: Chelsea Henry.

Lord, thank you for allowing me to live unashamed of You and your message. Help me to be a light shining in the darkness for others to see You and to spread your message. Amen.
