"Negar La Carne,"

Verso de hoy:

 Luego les dijo a todos: Si alguno quiere ser mis seguidores, que se nieguen a sí mismos, carguen con su cruz todos los días y me sigan.  - Lucas 9:23

 ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado qué significa negarnos a nosotros mismos?  Lo hice, y me tomó bastante tiempo descubrir qué significa y se necesita para llegar al punto de negarnos verdaderamente a nosotros mismos.  Nuestra carne va a ir en contra de todo lo que Dios quiere que hagamos.  Nuestra carne quiere que tengamos pensamientos inmorales, que nos complazcamos en el pecado, que juzguemos a los demás, y la lista de pecados sigue y sigue.  Si queremos convertirnos en la persona que Dios nos creó para ser, entonces tenemos que negar nuestros deseos para poder hacer espacio para los deseos de Cristo.  Negarnos a nosotros mismos es solo el primer paso.  Cuando finalmente estemos al punto de negarnos a nosotros mismos, entonces tenemos que tomar nuestra cruz todos los días.  Es un trabajo difícil, pero por eso también tenemos la fuerza de Dios para apoyarnos.  Así que renunciemos a nuestros deseos egoístas y nos llenemos de los deseos de Dios.  Sea consciente de las dificultades que va a soportar y recuerde que eventualmente habrá más bendiciones en su camino de las que jamás podría imaginar.  - Comentario de: Rachel Marcolini

 Padre Celestial, sé que no debería desear demasiado las cosas de este mundo.  Todos mis deseos deben estar en ti y la eternidad.  Fortaléceme cuando esté más débil, y dame gracia en los momentos difíciles, para que no caiga en la tentación.  Gracias por amarme y te entrego toda mi vida.  Amén.

Then he said to them all, If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. - Luke 9:23

Have you ever wondered what it means to deny ourselves? I have, and it took me quite a while to figure out what it means and takes to get to that point of truly denying ourselves. Our flesh is going to go against everything God wants us to do. Our flesh wants us to have immoral thoughts, indulge ourselves sinfully, judge others, and the list of sins goes on and on. If we want to become the person God created us to be, then we have to deny our desires so we can make room for the desires of Christ. Denying ourselves is just the first step. When we are finally to the point of denying ourselves then we have to take up our cross every day. It is a hard job, but that is also why we have God's strength to lean on. So let's give up our selfish desires and fill ourselves with God’s desires. Be aware of the hardships that you will endure and remember eventually there will be more blessings coming your way than you could ever imagine. - Commentary by: Rachel Marcolini

Today’s Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I know I should not overly desire the things of this world. All my desires should be on You and eternity. Strengthen me when I am at my weakest, and give me grace in difficult times, so I do not fall into temptation. Thank You for loving me, and I give my whole life to You. Amen.
