"Segundas Oportunidades,"

Verso de hoy:

 Cuando llegó a Jerusalén, intentó unirse a los discípulos;  y todos le tenían miedo, porque no creían que era discípulo.  - Hechos 9:26

 En mi trabajo, hay una persona que se caracteriza por su bajo desempeño laboral y hace un tiempo fue trasladado a mi sección.  Ninguno de los supervisores de turno quería darle una oportunidad debido a su reputación.  Sin embargo, después de hablar con uno de mis colegas superiores, acordaron darle otra oportunidad.  Se desempeñó bien, nunca llegó tarde o ausente como sugería su reputación, y fue diligente en sus deberes.  Sus escépticos decían que era solo cuestión de tiempo antes de que volviera a sus viejas costumbres, pero nunca sucedió.  Cuando el apóstol Pablo se convirtió por primera vez, los discípulos no creyeron.  Le tenían miedo a Pablo (antes Saulo) porque era conocido por la violenta persecución de los cristianos y la Iglesia.  Afortunadamente, Bernabé lo llevó al apóstol y declaró que había visto al Señor (versículo 27), y el resto es historia.  Esto prueba que si al apóstol Pablo se le dio una segunda oportunidad, todos necesitamos segundas oportunidades.  - Comentario de Mark Natividad

 Oración de hoy:

 Nuestro Padre Celestial, gracias por darnos numerosas oportunidades aunque no las merezcamos.  Señor, prometemos cambiar para mejor y abandonar las viejas costumbres y hábitos que te desagradan.  Amén.

"Second Chances,"

Today’s Verse:

When he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples; and they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple. - Acts 9:26

At my work, there’s a person who is known for poor work performance and a while ago he was transferred to my section. None of the shift supervisors wanted to give him a chance because of his reputation. However, after talking with one of my senior colleagues they agreed to give him another try. He performed well, he was never tardy or absent as his reputation suggested, and was diligent in his duties. His doubters said that it was only a matter of time before he went back to his old ways but it never happened. When apostle Paul first converted, the disciples did not believe. They were afraid of Paul (previously Saul) because he was notorious for the violent persecution of Christians and the Church. Thankfully Barnabas brought him to the apostle and declared that he has seen the Lord (verse 27), and the rest is history. This proves that if the apostle Paul was given a second chance, we all need second chances. - Commentary by Mark Natividad

Today’s Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us numerous chances even though we don’t deserve it. Lord, we promise to change for the better and forsake old ways and habits that displease You. Amen.
