"Ojos Cerrados,"

Verso de hoy:

 Pero siempre que ores, entra en tu habitación, cierra la puerta y ora a tu Padre que está en secreto;  y tu Padre que te ve en lo secreto te recompensará.  - Mateo 6: 6

 Como padre amoroso, quiero asegurarme de enseñarles a mis hijos que orar es un asunto serio.  La oración es nuestro medio de comunicarnos directamente con nuestro Padre celestial, a través de Su Hijo Jesucristo, quien intercede por nosotros.  Qué maravilloso regalo nos ha dado Dios.  Normalmente oro con los ojos cerrados y trato de concentrar todos mis pensamientos en Él, y animo a mis hijos a hacer lo mismo.  Sin embargo, en una ocasión los escuché reír mientras rezábamos y era obvio que no estaban prestando atención.  En el versículo anterior, la Biblia nos da algunas instrucciones sobre cómo debemos liberarnos de las distracciones y concentrarnos en la oración.  Mis hijos todavía están en el proceso de aprender esto e incluso yo lucho a veces al dejar que mi mente divague durante la oración.  Pero todos debemos recordar que orar es una acción personal e íntima, no debemos tomarlo a la ligera o por sentado.  - Comentario de Mark Natividad

 Oración de hoy:

 Nuestro Padre Celestial, perdónanos por dar por sentado el privilegio de poder comunicarnos contigo a través de las oraciones.  Señor, ayúdanos a tomar en serio la oración y a presentarnos ante Tu presencia con humildad, gratitud, alabanza y gloria.  En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.

"Eyes Closed,"

Today’s Verse:

But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father  who is in secret;  and your Father who sees you in secret will reward you. - Matthew 6:6

As a loving father, I want to make sure I teach my children that praying is a serious matter. Prayer is our means of communicating directly to our Father in heaven, through His Son Christ Jesus, who intercedes for us. What an amazing gift God has given us. I usually pray with my eyes closed and try to focus all my thoughts on Him, and I encourage my Children to do the same. However, on one occasion I heard them giggling while we were praying and it was obvious they were not paying attention. In the verse above, the Bible gives us some instruction on how we should free ourselves from distraction and focus on prayer. My children are still in the process of learning this and even I struggle sometimes by letting my mind wander during prayer. But we should all be reminded that praying is a personal and intimate action, we should not take it lightly or for granted. - Commentary by Mark Natividad

Today’s Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, forgive us for taking for granted the privilege of being able to communicate with You through prayers. Lord, please help us to take prayer seriously and to come before Your presence humbly, with gratitude, giving You praise and glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
