"Bueno y loco"

Verso de hoy:

 Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado?  ¿Por qué estás tan lejos de ayudarme, de las palabras de mi gemido?  Dios mío, clamo de día, pero no respondes;  y de noche, pero no encuentro descanso.  Sin embargo, eres santo, entronizado en las alabanzas de Israel.  - Salmo 22: 1-3

 ¿Alguna vez le gritas a Dios y sientes que no te escucha?  ¿No le importa?  ¿Alguna vez te enojaste con Dios?  Esos son pensamientos aterradores.  Él creó todo.  Envió al Everest sobresaliendo de la Tierra y dragó trincheras en las profundidades del Pacífico.  Él hizo miles de millones de estrellas, y eso nos da una pequeña imagen de Su tremenda gloria.  Sin embargo, ¿nos atrevemos a enojarnos con él?  Parece una locura que muchos de nosotros a veces nos sintamos molestos con Dios.  Este versículo, al que Jesús hará referencia desde la Cruz, fue uno de los muchos lamentos de David.  Era un hombre conforme al corazón de Dios, sin embargo, a través de los Salmos, tiene el hábito de preguntarle a Dios dónde está.  Creo que esta es la forma en que Dios nos dice que estos sentimientos son solo humanos.  Es posible que nos enojemos, pero debemos recordar que Él sigue siendo Dios, ser siempre respetuosos y no pecar en nuestro enojo.  Eso es lo que David hace aquí al final, todavía respeta y le da gloria a Dios.  Deja tu ira y recuerda que el Dios que creó los Cielos y la Tierra es el mismo Dios que te ama y quiere lo mejor para ti.  - Comentario de: Stephen Proctor

 Oración de hoy:

 Señor, gracias por ser lo suficientemente paciente como para tomar nuestras heridas y amarnos a través de ellas.  Muéstranos cómo es el amor perfecto.  Ayúdanos a verte como un padre amoroso al que podemos llevar nuestros problemas.  Sabemos que no eres alguien distante de nosotros.  Ayúdanos a encontrar la paz en Ti, incluso cuando estemos molestos.

"Good and Mad,"

Today’s Verse:

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer; and by night but find no rest. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. - Psalm 22:1-3

Do you ever cry out to God and feel like He’s not listening? He doesn’t care? Do you ever get upset with God? Those are scary thoughts. He created everything. He sent Everest jutting up from the Earth and dredged trenches in the depths of the Pacific. He made the billions of stars, and that gives us a tiny picture of His tremendous glory. Yet we dare to be upset with Him? It seems crazy that many of us at times feel upset towards God. This verse, which Jesus will reference from the Cross, was one of many laments by David. He was a man after God’s own heart, yet he makes a habit throughout the Psalms of asking God where He is. I think this is God’s way of telling us that these feelings are only human. We may get angry but we need to remember He’s still God, always be respectful, and do not sin in our anger. That’s what David does here at the end, he still respects and gives God glory. Put off your anger and remember the God who created the Heavens and the Earth is the same God who loves you and wants the best for you. - Commentary by: Stephen Proctor

Today’s Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being patient enough to take our hurts and love us through them. You show us what perfect love looks like. Help us see You as a loving father that we can bring our troubles to. We know that You are not someone distant from us. Help us find peace in You, even when we are upset. Amen.
