"Sé útil,"

Verso de hoy:

 Así que reconstruimos el muro, y todo el muro se unió a la mitad de su altura;  para la gente tenía una mente para trabajar.  - Nehemías 4: 6

 Aquí hay un poco de historia;  El imperio babilónico derrotó a Israel y dispersó a los israelitas por todo el imperio.  Jerusalén fue saqueada, los muros fueron destruidos.  Entonces los persas alcanzaron a los babilonios.  Aquí es donde entra Nehemías. Se enteró de la condición de Jerusalén y fue abrumado por el dolor.  Consiguió que el rey persa lo dejara ir a Jerusalén para reconstruir el muro, pero se enfrentó a la oposición.  Sin embargo, Nehemías tenía a Dios de su lado.  Le dijo al remanente en Jerusalén por qué estaba allí y se pusieron a trabajar.  Los gobernantes, los fabricantes de perfumes, los orfebres y los comerciantes fueron solo algunas de las personas que contribuyeron a la reconstrucción del muro.  Dios no encontró a los mejores artesanos, usó a las personas que estaban disponibles.  Estaban motivados para trabajar porque tenían algo genial por lo que trabajar.  Esta es una hermosa foto de la iglesia.  Cuando tenemos la meta de hacer algo, podemos hacerlo juntos.  No necesitamos ser los mejores en nada, pero si damos lo mejor de nosotros, Dios puede usarlo para hacer cosas increíbles que nunca hubiéramos creído posibles.  - Comentario de: Stephen Proctor

 La oración de hoy:

 Señor, gracias por la Iglesia y por la comunidad.  Ayúdanos a abrir nuestras mentes a la inmensidad de Tu capacidad.  Ayúdanos a no sentirnos limitados por lo que somos, lo que sabemos o lo que podemos hacer, sino a ver que todo lo bueno se puede hacer a través de ti.  Amén.

"Be Useful,"

Today's Verse:

So we rebuilt the wall, and all the wall was joined together to half its height; for the people had a mind to work. - Nehemiah 4:6

Here is a little history; the Babylonian empire defeated Israel and dispersed the Israelites throughout the empire. Jerusalem was sacked, the walls were destroyed. Then the Persians overtook the Babylonians. This is where Nehemiah comes in. He learned of the condition of Jerusalem and was overcome with grief. He got the Persian king to let him go to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall, but he faced opposition. However, Nehemiah had God on his side. He told the remnant in Jerusalem why he was there and they got to work. Rulers, perfume makers, goldsmiths, and merchants were just some of the people who contributed to rebuilding the wall. God didn’t find the best craftsmen, He used the people who were available. They were motivated to work because they had something great to work toward. This is a beautiful picture of the church. When we have a goal to get something done, we can do it together. We don’t need to be the best at anything, but if we give our best God can use it to do amazing things that we never would have thought possible. - Commentary by: Stephen Proctor

Lord, thank You for the Church and for the community. Help us to open our minds to the vastness of Your capacity. Help us to not feel limited by who we are, what we know, or what we can do, but to see that every good thing can be done through You. Amen.
