"Un Corazón Implacable,"

Verso de hoy:

 El Señor Dios dispuso una zarza, y la hizo brotar sobre Jonás, para darle sombra sobre su cabeza y salvarlo de su malestar;  así que Jonás estaba muy feliz por el arbusto.  - Jonás 4: 6

 Esta escritura tiene lugar cuando Jonás se sentó en la cima de una montaña esperando que Dios dictara el Juicio sobre Nínive.  Dios proporcionó refugio para Jonás del calor abrasador.  A pesar del hecho de que Dios había decidido renunciar a su juicio sobre los ninivitas, Jonás esperó que sucediera.  Mientras esperaba, Dios lo protegió por un tiempo de las repercusiones de su corazón orgulloso.  Sin embargo, en el versículo siguiente, esa protección se elimina.  A veces, necesitamos aprender lecciones difíciles en nuestro caminar espiritual.  Dios siempre está escuchando y nos protege hasta que es el momento adecuado para que aprendamos nuestras lecciones.  Esta parte de la historia de Jonás es una de esas ocasiones en las que Jonás necesitaba aprender las duras lecciones del perdón y que Dios ama a todo su pueblo, incluidos los pecadores de Nínive.  - Comentario de: Matthew Elliott

 Dios Padre, sé que habrá ocasiones en las que dejaré que mi corazón implacable saque lo mejor de mí.  Oro para que cuando eso suceda, me ayudes a reconocerlo y me enseñes amorosamente a perdonar para que pueda crecer en santidad.  Amén.

"An Unforgiving Heart,"

Today’s Verse:

The Lord God appointed a bush, and made it come up over Jonah, to give shade over his head to save him from his discomfort; so Jonah was very happy about the bush. - Jonah  4:6

This scripture takes place as Jonah sat upon the top of a mountain waiting for God to pass Judgement on Nineveh. God provided shelter for Jonah from the blistering heat. In spite of the fact that God had chosen to relinquish His judgment on the Ninevites, Jonah waited for it to happen. While he waited God protected him for a time from the repercussions of His prideful heart. However, in the very next verse, that protection is removed. Sometimes we need to learn hard lessons in our spiritual walk. God is always listening and protects us until the time is right for us to learn our lessons. This part of Jonah’s story is one of those times when Jonah needed to learn the hard lessons of forgiveness and that God loves all his people, including the sinners in Nineveh. -  Commentary by: Matthew Elliott

Today’s Prayer:

Father God, I know there will be times when I let my unforgiving heart get the best of me. I pray that when that happens You will help me recognize it, and lovingly teach me to forgive so that I can grow in holiness. Amen.
