Luke 2:1, Luke 2:4-5:

Y sucedió en esos días, que salió un decreto de César Augusto, que todo el mundo debería pagar impuestos.  Y José también subió de Galilea, de la ciudad de Nazaret, a Judea, a la ciudad de David, que se llama Belén;  (porque él era de la casa y el linaje de David :) para pagar impuestos con Mary, su esposa desposada, siendo genial con el niño.
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judæa, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
