They Are In Our Midst
Sometimes people can see in others such gifts as skills, abilities, talents, along with many other attributes, that they cannot see in themselves.
Most of us have witnessed this observation ourselves in some people who will not exercise their gifts because of fear. Fear is a powerful word, - but so is faith.
There are some whose mind have become so complacent with simply existing on an everyday basis until their life have become stagnated. You may be able to see in them what they refuse to see in themselves.
The Apostle Paul remind Timothy that he saw an uncommon faith in Timothy's grandmother and his mother that he also saw in Timothy himself. And then he said this to Timothy:
"Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Tim 1:6-7)
We don't always have to look for someone outside the church to offer special gifts the church needs. There are untapped resources sitting in many of our congregations. There are many saints in the church, worldwide, who may simply need some encouraging or a gentle push.
And there are some who may literally need a laying on of hands, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to stir up their gift that God has given them. Know this still, the enemy has been busy.
Many come to Christ broken in ways we may not be aware. And by divine connection, we may have been placed in their paths, to be a blessing and in sometimes the simplest of ways may cause a gift to be stirred up in them through Christ Jesus.
Don't look too far for someone to bless in such a way. They may very well be in our midst. Go and share your faith with the least of them. It's a Beautiful Thing!
